-Many people are not aware they can go the reef from Cape Tribulation, there are daily trips and you can even do a scuba-dive course here, highly recommended!
-North of the Daintree river keep your speed down, you will enjoy the scenery more and save the endangered cassowary that can very unexpectedly step out on the road. Many people arrive in Cape Tribulation unaware of what a cassowary is and mistake the scrubhens for cassowaries.
An adult cassowary is 1.5 to 2 metres tall and a collision with one of these birds would do some real damage to both the bird, your rental car and your wallet.
